Kaymich Aquires Grant Marking

C.B. Kaymich & Co. Limited have acquired the Sheffield, UK based engineering company CA Grant Ltd. The acquisition was completed in September 2007 and is part of an ongoing expansion plan by Kaymich.

According to Kaymich Director, Mr Michael Bedford the acquisition brings several benefits to both companies. “CA Grant have already some involvement in the cigarette industry through their range of cigarette marking dies. The resources that Kaymich can provide will allow them to expand that market.” Kaymich will also be able to make use of the engineering resources that CA Grant can offer. Michael Bedford stated that Kaymich have recently entered into an agreement with a major OEM, requiring a significant increase in engineering capacity that CA Grant can provide. “Last year (2006-07) was our most successful year ever in our thirty five years and sales showed significant growth. However, we cannot afford to be complacent. This investment is evidence of our commitment to our customers and will help ensure that Kaymich continues to be a leading innovator within the industry”.

Both Kaymich and CA Grant are well established Sheffield companies with almost 90 years of manufacturing experience between them.

delfortgroup’s Small Bobbins with a Big Impact

The marketing department of delfortgroup has recently developed “mini-bobbins“ as a tool for displaying samples of cigarette and plug wrap paper, especially of colored, printed, and embossed cigarette papers. The baby bobbins can show marketing and purchasing managers of the tobacco industry paper quality and give them a good idea of what finished cigarettes made with design paper will look like.

True-to-scale images reproduced from the original bobbins replace the paper sheets and strips previously used as samples. The baby bobbins can be sent out easily, quickly, and inexpensively or taken along to meetings with customers. They come in a tailor-made display box, which also includes a CD with product information and a company presentation. Each bobbin has an outer diameter of 8 cm, weighs less than 200 grams, and is 26.5 mm wide. Approximately 250 m of paper are rolled on its mini plastic core. The bobbins are packaged in original wrapping paper and have a label with product information.
